It’s Election Day here in the US, and as we discussed at length in our most recent Insights letter, the Market cares much more about the removal of uncertainty than it does about which administration is victorious.

As Carson Investment Research has found, 9 out of the last 10 years following the election have been positive with an average return of +15.2% regardless of political party.

And as Sam Stovall at S&P Global highlights, over the past 80 years, the S&P 500 has been positive over 70% of the time with average annual return of +9.2% and GDP growth of +2.8% across various political scenarios.
